The project for the new housing block IPES is founded upon the traditional marks of the local mountain architecture, within which it mirrors the beautiful surrounding landscape, through a fresh modern style. The local archetypes of rural architecture play a key role as they describe the connection between the history of construction and the inspiration that comes from the landscape. Key elements: the basement, a reference to the better known tabià, a massive block in dark shades within which the entrances have been carved in; the body, that retraces the material patterns that define the historical facades; the roofing, whose tilted pitches are irregular and mimic the mountain skyline on the horizon. A project founded on rationality, that develops along a standard circulation that optimizes the layout of the housing units, allowing their future rearrangement.
