The roofing is a visual interpretation of the concept of shelter. Developing this idea, the extension of the school of Courrendlin completes the existing school campus and the urban context in which it shapes. The volumes are characterised by an irregular pattern of windows, oriented towards the most prominent naturalistic features of the landscape. The drawing of the elevations mirrors the functional layout: the didactic activities are all gathered at the upper levels, envisaging the ground level as a public space for social activities. The indoor circulation is fluid and flexible thanks to the use of wooden movable wall partitions that stimulate creativity and curiosity in the children. The skylights on the roofing frame the horizontal circulation and double-height spaces.
