The project for the Hotel and Catering School mimics the variations of the landscape to install a dialogue with the city. Concavity and convexity are related to the context, as is for the church of St. Francis and the valley. The movement of the external skin ensures natural lighting for all the locations. A dynamic approach that extends also to people-flow and functional program. On the exterior the belvedere is a crossing space that shows the routes by which the city is organised. Different functions meet in hybrid zones, that are conceived as flexible areas. The design develops the principles of bioclimatic design. The structure in X-LAM, the use of renewable resources and the adoption of flexible internal partitions, make this design a model for sustainability certified LEED SCHOOL PLATINUM.
