Structural Design Engineer

What we ask

We are seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join our team in Pisa. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical development and structural analysis of complex systems, working within an Integrated Design framework across projects of varying scales and sectors.

You will ensure technical excellence in the design of steel and reinforced concrete structures, performing seismic vulnerability assessments and drafting specialist technical documentation, all while ensuring full compliance with current regulations and company quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the structural design process, defining and finalizing technical solutions for both new constructions and existing building retrofits.
• Perform seismic vulnerability assessments and structural analysis, evaluating the performance of reinforced concrete and steel structures in accordance with the latest regulatory standards.
• Draft structural calculations and specialized technical reports, ensuring full compliance with Italian Technical Standards for Construction (NTC) and Eurocodes.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to integrate structural solutions with architectural and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems, ensuring overall project consistency.
• Oversee the production of technical drawings, ensuring that structural calculations are accurately translated into detailed executive and construction documents.

Experience & Requirements

• Education: Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in structural analysis and design.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of FEM modeling software and AutoCAD.
• Languages: Native or professional fluency in Italian; a good command of English (both written and spoken) is highly desirable.
• Preferred Qualifications (Plus): Proficiency in Revit Structure (STR) and previous experience working in a BIM environment are considered significant advantages.

Core Competencies

• Advanced Structural Engineering: Proven expertise in the modeling and analysis of RC (reinforced concrete) and structural steelwork, with a specific focus on the retrofit, restoration, and reinforcement of existing structures.
• Regulatory Framework: In-depth knowledge of Italian Building Codes (NTC 2018) and international guidelines for seismic design.
• BIM & Integrated Design: Proficiency in collaborative design environments, with the ability to develop coherent and optimized structural models within an Integrated Design workflow.
