CLIMAX at ArchiTexturExpo: From Industrial Component to Architectural Organism
Fuorisalone 2026 | Technical components reimagined as art installations in the Brera Design District
Milan, April 2026 – As part of ArchiTexturExpo, hosted at the Fondazione Matalon (Foro Buonaparte 67), ATI Project unveils CLIMAX. This installation is the result of a partnership with Eterno Ivica and features within an exhibition curated by EN Space network and VG crea.
ArchiTexturExpo explores the synergy between matter and design. Within this framework, Eterno Ivica’s technical supports for pedestal flooring are reimagined by ATI Project as a raw material for creative expression.
The project flips the traditional construction hierarchy on its head: a technical element usually destined to remain hidden is transformed into the fundamental unit of a new expressive language. The work adopts a “bottom-up” approach to design -rather than imposing an abstract form, it evolves from the physical properties of industrial matter toward the complexity of an architectural structure.
The title draws inspiration from the rhetorical device of the climax: the serial repetition of technical components builds toward the intersection of two mirrored, opposing structures. At this contact point – where the forms are simultaneously in conflict and in dialogue -the tension between the designer’s vision and the resistance of the material is laid bare. It is this very friction that gives rise to architecture itself.
By stripping the component of its original utility and elevating it to a visible modular element, CLIMAX serves as a manifesto for creative reuse. It proves that industrial standardization can be transcended, turning it into a compelling architectural composition in the heart of the Brera Design District.
