Description
The design for the new school campus in the Municipality of Nardò aligns with the local administration’s vision to equip the outskirts with a Civic Center that acts as a catalyst for urban and social regeneration.
The project, winner of the “Scuola Futura” competition, redefines the concept of educational space by creating environments that are not confined to the traditional classroom as the sole locus of instruction. The various micro-spaces are therefore flexible and capable of being active at any time.
Key public functions, accessible for extracurricular use, will be located on the ground floor around a central courtyard, while the gymnasium will frame a public park equipped with sports facilities shared with the city in Piazza Jan Palach. The upper floor will be dedicated to teaching spaces, thereby reinforcing the complex’s role as a civic center.
The new school campus will thus become a landmark for the city of Nardò.
