The new University Campus of Esslingen finds its own identity in modern technology, in the relationship between nature and a familiar atmosphere. The building bonds with the context, while the envelope is a skin that provides sun shading and acoustic protection. The piercing of the perforated outer skin defines an aesthetic that only seems to be abstract, but really is the result of a parametric relationship between exterior input and indoor activity. In the interiors we find a vibrant and harmonious setting, where the interior court and the pathways that develop on different levels, create multiple levels of depth. The vegetation works in synergy with the building creating a comfortable space, tailor-made for students. An example of integrated design that focuses on the dialogue between space, technology and man.
