Earthquakes cause physical voids and emotional voids. To intervene in post-seismic contexts entails to intervene with simplicity and care for the social context that is encountered. Starting on such basis, the new ‘Romolo Capranica’ school in Amatrice was born. The project supports a design carried out by the municipality, and is composed by six pavilions, each one with its own specific activity, and all of which are oriented towards a specific axis, to guarantee the best indoor environmental quality. Operating in an emergency framework, we were faced with the challenge of meeting short term deliveries and passing earthquake-resistant safety assessments. The building was completed in 2019 thanks to an accurate Project Management that took into consideration all particular needs of the context.
