Description

The main idea of the proposal is to create a centre for science and research that is meant to be first and foremost an urban spot. The square takes the leading role as the welcoming area, social catalyst and centre for slow mobility. The building uses landscape as the primary tool to relate to the context. The nearby public gardens are transformed in urban vegetable gardens, pairing agriculture and scientific research.

The heart of the design proposal resides in the planetarium, around which the research labs and offices position. The façade has been developed as a filter between exterior and interior space and it has been fabricated in materials that reduce air pollution in urban areas.
