Description
Commonly known as the “Pearl of the Tirreno Sea”, the city of Maratea lands on the sea through its historical harbour. The inadequate infrastructure and the degraded landscape, relating both to the current urban plan and to the bay of Policastro, are the underlying elements of the design proposal. Shape and materials reinterpret the context to seize an eye-catching view.
The delicacy of the architectural gestures blends natural elements with artificial components. The intervention is an invitation towards discovering a new way of building, endorsing a new partnership between man and nature.
