The enhancement of natural heritage, sustainable mobility, and a new concept of the urban courtyard as strategic assets to revitalize the area of the New Ecodistretto Bertalia-Lazzaretto in Bologna are the foundations for a project aimed at acting as a social accelerator and a driving force for the regeneration of the network systems in the Navile district.
ATI Project, a-fact architecture factory, Weber Architects, and Parcnouveau, winners of the international design competition organized by the Municipality of Bologna, have unveiled the project for the new Ecodistretto. This initiative not only addresses the city’s housing needs but also represents an example of an eco-sustainable, connected, and resilient community.
The proposal offers a clear vision of the central role that the new development can play in creating a more balanced and connected Bologna, focusing on the untapped potential of the area. It is not merely a residential project, but an urban ecosystem that fosters socio-community vitality, with multifunctional public spaces designed to serve both the new residents and the local community.
